Downtown L.A.
The store is located in the ground floor of the historic Higgins Building. Completed in 1910, it originally contained a privately operated power plant in the basement that supplied electricity for two square blocks. The legendary attorney, Clarence Darrow, kept offices there when he defended two brothers accused of blowing up the nearby L.A. Times building during a union dispute (he lost). Today the Higgins Building houses the famous Edison Bar and has been designated an historical monument.
