Background: Over the last several years, finding a good coffee from Mexico has been difficult. Due to bad crop years and disease, some of the partners with whom we worked had walked away from their organic certifications in order to deal with these challenges and produce enough coffee to sustain their families. Finding a good organic Mexican coffee was getting to be like finding a needle in a haystack.
This harvest, we were lucky and happy to find the Organic Mexico MOCABE (Movimiento Campesino De Bleisario). This coffee has all of the notes of a good, classic coffee from Mexico: creamy texture, brown sugar, bittersweet chocolate, tamarind, and a hint of lemon. Thanks to our partners at InterAmerican Coffee for suggesting it and helping Groundwork to bring Organic Mexico MOCABE to our homes and cafes.
