Coffee Fundamentals + Houseplants
Author | groundwork coffee Date | September 10, 2019
Have you ever wondered what all the hocus pocus is going on behind the counter at the coffeeshop? Where do all those beans come from and why doesn't that home brew taste quite as good as the drip at the shop? Well we've got great news for you! We've partnered with our friends at The Sill, a plant shop that helps "plant parents" acquire all the tools they need to grow healthy, potted plants at home.
Are you getting excited? You should be, because Jeff Chean, Chief Coffee Guy at Groundwork Coffee, will take you on a journey from coffee beans to coffee cups. And, the kind people at The Sill will demonstrate how to plant your own coffee plant at home. Learn the origins of coffee, the journey it takes from the farm to our homes, and how it's become a staple around the world. The session will also explore the different type of coffee plants, beans, and how to brew great coffee at home.
You'll learn about the history of coffee, the different types of plants, and get a view into farming practices at origin. We will also share tips and tricks on different brewing methods to make the best coffee at home. Then, taste some delicious organic coffee and pot your own coffee plant. You'll walk away with a deeper knowledge of the care that goes into every cup of coffee and a 4" coffee plant of your own (in nursery pot)!
Tuesday, September 17th at The Sill's West Hollywood store in Los Angeles.
This class is good for all levels and meant to be casual and interactive. Space is extremely limited so hurry and grab your tickets while they're still available.
