About Us:
Groundwork Coffee specializes in batch-roasted, certified organic coffees and artisanal teas. From our humble roots as a rare book store and cafe back in 1990, Groundwork would go on to become one of the first certified organic coffee roasters in Southern California, as well as the largest organic coffee roaster in Los Angeles. A truly local pioneer in fair trade and fairly traded coffee and tea sourcing, we remain committed to sustainable business practices, including maintaining direct relationships with growers and importers who promote responsible coffee and tea production.

About You:                                             
We are looking to hire a friendly, responsible, and tenaciously customer-centric Route Sales Representative to join our growing team and jump-start their career. The Route Sales Representative will use company vehicles to transport, deliver, and merchandise product for Grocery retail customers. The ideal candidate is one who has great customer service, superior driving skills, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.  What You’ll Do:

  • Must follow all safety guidelines and regulations
  • Drive van over established route to deliver, stock and stage product at customer locations.
  • Set up merchandise, sales promotion displays and deliver promotional material to accounts.
  • Must comply with customers’ scheduled receiving hours, dress codes and policies
  • Build and maintain relationships with store management, and receivers
  • Maintain all company supplied equipment clean and serviced, including van, warehouse, and POS
  • Gain product space and display rack opportunities through relationships with store management and receivers
  • Work closely with the customer to be able to assess needs, resolve discrepancies and complaints.
  • Must be professional and represent the company in a positive manner at all times.
  • Must be able to maintain an accurate inventory often requiring counting and reporting.
  • Completes reporting pertaining to merchandising, sales, and promotions.
  • Adhere to department maintenance and organization rules
 
  
What It Takes To Rock This Role:
  • Prior DSD / Truck to store sales experience is preferred  
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and clean driving history and MVR with no restrictions  
  • High school diploma or equivalent  
  • Superior driving skills and able to follow all driving and safety laws.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. frequently; occasional pushing and pulling (approximately 20 lbs. of force)
  • Positive attitude and good customer service skills
  • Flexible work schedule
  • Attention to detail, with an ability to follow special instructions in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to communicate and interact well with other employees and our customers
