Groundwork is officially a Certified B Corp!

Hello and Happy Summer! 

Groundwork prides itself on being a company that cares as much about doing good for our people, our planet, and our community, as we do about sourcing, roasting, and offering the world's greatest Certified Organic coffee. Our mission-forward ways have been a part of Groundwork's ethos since we first opened our cafe doors in Venice in 1990 and are why we believe that the coffee is so much more than a simple morning ritual.

Inspiring people, especially during a global pandemic that has so adversely affected so many of us, is no small feat. That said, for us coffee is so much more than a simple morning ritual. At Groundwork, we believe that coffee is a perfect platform for community building, something we need now more than ever.

Coffee can bring people together in a powerful way that sparks joy and offers a shared experience. So many hands touch someone’s coffee before it gets to them… farmer partners, exporters, truckers, warehouse staff, roasters, baristas, and grocery store workers. It’s a global effort.

With that, we are thrilled to announce that we now are a Certified B Corp™, which takes Groundwork’s commitment one step further. B Corp™ Certification is for businesses what organic is to food products: a promise that a company is doing business in a way that meets rigorous standards of verified performance, transparency and accountability verified by a third-party non-profit. 

B Corp Certification is the only certification that measures a company’s entire social and environmental performance. Certification doesn’t just prove where companies excel now — it also commits companies to their mission for the long term.

We believe in this certification just like we believe in organics. It was a no-brainer to join such a great roster of other businesses that also believe that businesses, both big and small, can be engines for good.
