2022 Quality Award: Dos Granjeras
Every year we are fortunate to source incredible coffees from our partners at AMUCC, a 100% women-owned farming association in Colombia. The women of AMUCC are responsible for our best-selling Colombia single-origin coffee, as well as our Fuerza Femenina coffee and last year's Dos Granjeras Limited Reserve.
As a part of this ongoing relationship, every year, we present the AMUCC Quality Award to two or more members of the association that set themselves apart from an already awe-inspiring group. These Quality Award-winning coffees are blended to create "Dos Granjeras", a unique blend of micro-lots that are Groundwork exclusives. To award their hard work, the winners of this award receive an additional premium per pound of coffee purchased, as well as a gift of high-end brewing equipment and Groundwork gear.
Maria Potosi, three-time AMUCC Quality Award Winner
By focusing this award on micro-lots within AMUCC, we can celebrate Certified Organic farms concentrating on producing a quality product beyond increasing yields. The additional premium paid allows our winning farmers to focus on what ends up in the cup while maintaining their income and livelihood. By celebrating these successes in organic coffee farming, we also help to encourage additional farms to transition to organic and regenerative farming practices.
Argenis Rosas, AMUCC Quality Award Winner
We are so excited to celebrate the work of Argenis Rosas and Maria Potosi (above) in this year's Dos Granjeras. Maria was our first-ever AMUCC Quality Award winner years ago and a 2021 winner. This is now her third time winning the award. Argenis Rosas was part of our limited reserve box set "Hermanas de AMUCC" in 2016 with her sister Bertha, and we are excited to have her fantastic coffee again as part of this year's Dos Granjeras.
This year's winning coffees are undoubtedly extraordinary and limited (We only have a tiny amount!). Argenis and Maria's combined efforts represent the incredibly high standards of the women of AMUCC.
